For the last year, I’ve been on a kick about choosing the path I take instead of leaving everything up to chance. It’s as easy as coming to an actual roadblock in the actual road then saying, “I didn’t want to go there anyway”. Then I thought, I used to consider myself a free spirit without rules and I would just let whatever wants to happen, happen. Then it occurred to me that that was a choice. Suddenly I’m faced with a life philosophy that leaves me spinning in circles on the spot. The long version is, “Choice or chance, choose one”.

Back to Latin. Using online translators, because I know absolutely nothing about Latin, I managed to come up with a phrase that translates back-and-forth on multiple translators. “Optio vel Casu.”…Choice or Chance.”. I wanted it in Latin because of another Latin phrase that I’m very familiar with, “Omnia dicta fortiora si dicta Latina.”…”Everything sounds more impressive when said in Latin.“. I may have it completely backwards but it I like it. More accurately, I choose to like it.
